Clinical Therapy Provider
Hi, my name is Holly Grace,
I recently graduated from Texas State University with my Master's Degree in Communication Science and Disorders, I also received my Bachelor's Degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Texas State University. I am in the process of completing my clinical fellowship year, and I am so excited to start my speech language pathologist journey at Southern Star Pediatrics under Rachael's supervision.
Through my graduate training I have gained experience with assessing and treating clients with autism, articulation, receptive/expressive language impairments, phonological and fluency disorders. I have also worked with clients who have dysarthria, aphasia, and dysphagia. Lastly, I have also worked with many clients who use augmentative alternative communication (AAC) and I have trained caregivers on how to use and model language using AAC devices.
I am a believer in Christ and have strong Christian values. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as my cat, Zeke, who loves to play fetch! I love outdoor activities such as golf, frisbee golf, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. I also love to crochet, read books, and binge shows like Gilmore Girls, Psych, or Grey's Anatomy.
Through my graduate training I have learned the importance of using a team approach when it comes to therapy. This may look like collaborating with parents/caregivers, teachers, and other therapists. By using this approach, it fosters an encouraging, supporting, and successful environment. My goal when working with each client is to provide the highest quality of individual care and to work with the client and their families to reach their speech and language goals.
Clinical Therapy Assistant
I am a state of Texas certified Speech Language Pathology Assistant, who believes in supporting growth
and learning to all children, through a dedicated, empathetic, and guided learning path that is focused
on your child, and how they learn. I have a firm and deep rooted faith in Christ that helps me in all
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Dallas in Speech Language
Pathology and Audiology, and maintain my certification through the State of Texas. I have also received
my certification for Speech Language Pathology Assistants, from ASHA.
During my time at UT Dallas I interned for a small charter school in Ft. Worth and was hired on soon
after graduation. I have spent the last six years working as an SLPA, where I have gained experience
working with children from Pre K to 8 th grade, with various articulation and phonological disorders,
stuttering, expressive and receptive language impairments and literacy skills that helped with growing
students reading and learning abilities.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends. I have three grown
children and relish the time when I get to see them. My interests include working in outside in the yard,
planting, and trying to learn and play golf. I also enjoy relaxing by watching reruns and the Food
Network. I have a firm and deep rooted faith in Christ that helps me in both life and working with
clients.
In my time working as an SLPA I have learned that working with children is a collaborative effort
between therapists, teachers, and most importantly parents. I believe that I contribute to this by
assisting my Speech Language Pathologists in all aspects of the client’s therapy, and maintaining open
communication with parents. Having had a child in speech therapy I know the process can take time but
through this experience and my training I will work to give the utmost care and quality of therapy to
help the client reach their speech and language goals.
